The Pine Isle Sports Bar & Grill in Three Lakes will be re-opening on May 1st as a smoke-free establishment. Greg Elisha and Dave Jackson, owners of Pine Isle, named a number of reasons for the decision.
“When we took over Pine Isle, we made a commitment to listen to our customers. It was clear that they wanted a smoke-free dining experience and when you listen to your customers, they will always steer you in the right direction.” Elisha said.
With the smoke-free air law in Governor Doyle’s proposed budget, Wisconsin could see the passage of a comprehensive law prohibiting smoking in all indoor public places and workplaces in Wisconsin. Niki Kostrova, Oneida County Tobacco Coordinator said, “We are so excited about Pine Isle’s decision to go smoke-free and on behalf of the Tobacco Coalition, we commend Greg and Dave for their initiative. It will protect all workers and customers from the dangers of secondhand smoke and put Pine Isle one step ahead of the rest.”
Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, and Michigan have all banned smoking in indoor public places and 38 communities in Wisconsin have already gone smoke-free with much success.
“The timing felt right and the decision fit well with our goal to make Pine Isle a family-focused experience. My partners and I have been bringing our families to Pine Isle for many years and it is our intention to restore this Three Lakes landmark complete with good service, good food at an honest price – to the way things used to be.” Elisha said.
The newly restored Pine Isle Sports Bar & Grill will be bringing back good, old fashioned hospitality, great service and classic food in a healthy smoke-free environment.
